FOR YOUR INNER MERMAID / PEARL OYSTER GIVEAWAY FROM TYRA

The pearl oyster brooch (or well, pearl mussel actually) is from Tyra Therman...

...and you can win a similar one for yourself!

I always thought Tyra's pearl oyster-jewellery were beautiful and a brilliant idea; like something a mermaid lost, washed up on the shore to be found by some lucky girl passing by...

You can buy her mussel brooches, necklaces and earrings as well as other jewellery and accessories from her shop; Punavuoren Putiikki and now also online from Made By. (Made By is like a Finnsish Etsy, still taking it's baby steps - it is possible to order abroad but so far Made By can only calculate the shipping fee for Finland.)b But first, try and win one for yourself!

The brooch is made out of mussel shells and pearl-beads.

To enter the give-away, as usual, just leave a comment on this post.
If you do not have a blog or website trough which I can reach you, remember to leave me your email.
And please, as I will draw the winner on random, only ONE comment per person!
If you link to this give-away in your blog, on your site, on twitter or some forum you hang out on you may leave me one more comment (per link) telling me that you've done so, and of course linking to the post/site in question.

The competition is open until next week's Sunday evening, July 25th!
Good luck!

(PS. Love you all! ♥)

AT THE COPA, COPACABANA...

In the back of my closet, still in the old flat, there is a bag of fabric waiting since last summer to be transformed into vintage styled swimsuits. Now, as in Now-now would be about the time to get it done, heat waves never last that long over here, but today when visiting Punavuoren Putiikki I realized I could save myself the effort and just grab one of Tyra's the lovely Miss Maxwell / Miranda Lingerie pieces to go instead! (Sorry Ina, I will get your suit done though!)

You may remember the collection made out of vintage fabrics from last year?

Here are the swimsuits of this season - don't they just scream piña coladas, bossa nova and that perfect spot in the chair, under the parasol? -I think I need (as in really need, you know, for real :) the green dotted bikini:

Photos by Alejandro Lorenzo, modelled by fellow Itty Bitties Jackie O' and Lola.

You can buy these and other creations of Tyra Therman's by visiting Punavuoren Putiikki, or if you're far away, by contacting her.
You can also check out Made By, not for the swimsuits though, but more on that later!

(These pics really put me in the mood for Jenny Woo's Glitter Grill, the The Tiki-Tiki-Tropical party tonight. I will however spend the evening and early night here in the warm and sweaty harbour (not complaining though, that much at least, few work days beat these warm evenings by the sea). But if you're not too far away you will still be able to make it for the tropical cocktails and tiki-inspired burlesque acts, first set starts about now!)

OFELIA

This weekend it's time for the third Ofelia Market! Like last year I will be modeling in the vintage & hand made items fashion show, this year with the rest of the Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret for Vaudeville Boutique as well as do a light version of our parasol number for Tyra/Punavuoren Putiikki, but on Saturday only. On Sunday I will spend some quality time with E out in the countryside.

BIKINI GIRLS WITH... UM, HANDBAGS OR SOMETHING

...even though some machine guns wouldn't look bad in the first pic I guess.

Tyra Therman makes these bathing suits inspired by the early 60's to the late 70's. They are hand made out of vintage fabrics. If you didn't get yourself a pair at the Ofelia Secondhand Market last weekend you can buy these at Hoochie Mama Jane!

BLACK, GOLD & GIRLS IN DISTRESS

The car has broken down in the middle of nowhere.

It's hot and dry and things don't look too bright for the moment. (But thank god the girls are at least properly dressed for a surprising situation like this!)

"No wait, I think I can fix this!"

"...hmmm...or then not..."

Well, if the car dosn't work there is only one thing left to do: keep on looking good and start posing!

IN TRENDI

I have caught the flue and might give people the impression that I'm related to Rudolph and I still have a bunch of work to do so I'm mostly running around all incognito in my black uniform (no sneakers though, we have snow here so it's all winter boots now!)

So, I'll continue to rely on others to supply me with nicer pics than the ones I'd be capable of taking right now...

Our burlesque group is part of a story about burlesque in Finland in this month's Trendi magazine, togheter with Sally Vanilla, Minna Parika and Kirsi Nisonen.

I was actually sick at the photo shoot but it went quite well anyway, except for that the hairstylist didn't show up when we were to be shot! I did panic for a while since I hadn't touched my hair after the shower, it was a mess, and I only had a few of my mandatory bobby pins in my purse. Luckily I can manage pretty good by myself and with some borrowed hairspray there was no damage done :)

My black and gold corset in the photo is made by Tyra Therman btw.

(and funny enough, the hairstylist did fix some very nice glamour hair to some of the others who were photographed later but their picture is shot in such a way that the hair doens't even show...)
