THE BIRDS ARE LEAVING

It is always as fascinating how they go from what seems like a total chaos into being perfectly organized.

(The middle on of the three houses in the first picture was my first ever home btw.)

SO MUCH COLOUR, SO MANY SHADES

Autumn is here and the colours of the park outside our house has changed.

I sat down a bit on my way in to town.

A little green still, but mostly shades of yellow, red and rust.

Yellow, red and rust - matching the colours of the trees :)

The light is incredably sharp.

It's hard to keep ones eyes open. (our building is the one between my head and my arm btw :)

Heading home.

Well that was yesterday; today however it is raining and they have threatened us with snow!

No way I say.

THE TIME OF LAYERING HAS BEGUN

Even if I'm not really layering anything in this outfit, you know, just a jacket over a dress and that does not really count for layering but anyway - it's the start on that season at least, a season that I do love, like stated before, almost more than summer. (Or at least or the romanticized image of it.) One actually gets to wear and combine almost anything one has in the wardrobe!

Too bad I have to work in between, otherwise I'd do nothing else that run around town and cafées in different gorgeous outfits during these few weeks before winter arrives and everything that has anything to do with clothing and getting dressed changes drastically.

Everything in the outfit is vintage, except for the shoes. They are just old.

IT'S GETTING DARKER BUT AT LEAST IT'S NOT THAT COLD.

Well hello global warming! I'm wearng my September jacket in November.

I've stumbled across warm weather in blogs lately as it seems to be especially warm for the season everywhere. But where bloggers in the norther part of the US blog about sunshine in something that almost resembles a very late indian summer and middle European girls enjoy nice warm autumn days at + 15 C, a mild November over here means +7 and rain. Sunshine or not, it gets dark a bit over 15 o'clock here already. And it will get darker for one moth still. Yey.

Everything I'm wearing is vintage except for the shoes (which btw are much comfier by now :)

RUBBER BOOTIES

Oh the joy of waterproof shoes!

(Although I have to confess, they are not the most comfortable ones. Totally ok for an hour or so, but not to walk in for hours. Ouch. But then again, few shoes are...)

SUBTLE AUTUMN COLOURS & SUNDAY BIKE RIDES

The warm afternoon sun could almost make one think it is still summer, but there are still some things giving autumn away: the shade of the light, a colder breeze and colours starting to pop up here and there, less green, more yellow.

And of course, the fallen leaves. More and more of them.
A great weather to bike in however!

OH AUTUMN, MY FAVOURITE

Living in a city that's actually is on the same latitude as the southern point of Greenland it's generally considered insane to prefer any other season than summer. But still, I sort of secretly like autumn the most, even though it is more the thought of autumn that I like, than the real actual shit weather we have here most of the time anyway.

I associate autumn with all the nice colours, walks in beautiful crisp weather with huge scarves, cute little jackets and a beret, holding hands (well these days I'm mostly just holding my cigarette but anyway), drinking hot chocolate or warm blackcurrant juice. Even the occasional rain and fog is ok, if one indoors sipping on that hot juice then. Normally it just rains, is raw and windy and I complain, but lately it's actually been my kind of autumn.

It's said that if there are many rowanberries it's going to be a cold winter, but I'll just rely on the global warming that I won't have to freeze for the next six monts.

Part of my autumn-things is, as already mentioned, the whole dressing up nicely and semi-warm, looking gorgeus under blue skies and wonderfully coloured trees. My stockings are decorated with small leaves. Very autumn-y.
